Had this been read by the proposers of the questions the questions
would hardly have been proposed.

3. In the work intituled Pauper Management improved
never published originally in Ao 1797 Youngs Annals of Agriculture
on pp. 42 and 43 under the head of Means of Separation I find
a passage the object of which is to bring hold up to view the difficulty
which it is natural for in the case of a person unused to
the contemplation of the principle and of the applications
capable of being made of it, the difficulty he will
be apt to experience in his endeavour to form an
adequate comprehension of its potency efficiency, and the effects
with which it is pregnant: and quoting at the same time a
passage affording proof of the difficulties and inconveniences
under which an establishment of the sort in question upon any of the ordinary
planes can not but labour for want of it.

4. In par that Postscript Part I. under the head which
takes for its principal subject the plan of construction,
in p. 5 under the head of Cells, double instead of single, the subject
of solitary confinement receives a full consideration, and
the in relation mischievousness of it as well as the inutility
of it to every other purpose but that of an instrument a punishment of short duration or not,
of compulsion removeable at the pleasure of him to whom it
is applied.

5. In Postscript Part II 26 sections and containing 232 pages
(including the pages intituled Management &c and
vindicating the contract plan) are occupied in laying open
to view the whole of the plan of management which has the
principle of universal inspection for its basis, and comparing
in its several points the proposed system plan of management with the
plans of management which in relation to the same points as
were at that time actually pursued
in the existing establishments
or in other works proposed to be pursued.
