‡ This is the quantity specified in contemplation in the Contract between
the Treasury and Mr B and Bentham, and specified in the Act (34
Geo: 3. Ch. 84) passed for the purpose of authorizing the
Contract.
† These were the rates and prices mentioned by Mr Willock Land Surveyor, as proper in the case
of Land to be purchased by Government, in the
situation and of the quality respectively above-mentioned
Meadow Land (according to Mr Willock) would in that
same situation be worth but £6 a year per acre,
instead of £8: and if of the 44 acres there were to
be 22 at £6 instead of £8, this would strike off
£1320 from the above price: but though there may be
almost as much Meadow as Garden Ground adjacent
to the Waste, it will not be easy (it is supposed) to
obtain quite so much of the cheaper Sort of Land as of
the other.
