Justice when whenever it bears any useful or so much as even an
intelligible meaning, is seen to be but a modification
of utility – general utility: or say rather, to soften down familiarize
to you render the abstraction a little more tangible than abstraction the dictates of if utility are wantreceive
in certain cases to receive the appellation of the dictates of justice.

Applied to the business of legislation – applied to the transactions
between individual and individual the description
of the dictates of justice are too multifarious and too
unsettled to be and would run too much into detail
to admitt of insisting in this place, nor is it would it be necessary
to the present purpose. Among the dictates of purpose
