Estate did at divers times make application to the
said Mr Wise through by the intervention of his known
Agent Mr Smith Chinaman No 22 in the Strand
his known Agent in respect of the said Estates,
for the eventual purchase of the said Lot B
(together with such portion of the said Lot c as by constitutes
means of a road proposed to be made another
road composed is occupied by the end of the line of private Road by which
the remainder thereof communicates with and opens into
the said Lot A composing comprehending the said intended portion of the said Waste,) in case
it should please your Lordships to authorize
Your Memorialist to make such proposed purchase of the same:
and that, in pursuance compliance with such application
a letter from the said Wise Mr Smith addressed to Mr Secretary Long happened dated on
or about the 12th of August last, was addressed to Mr
Secretary Long, offering to sell the said premises for
the purpose of the said Penitentiary House, upon
on condition that a requisite portion of the said
Lot B should be converted into a Road to serve
in lieu of the said portion of the said Lot C,
without which the occupiers of the said Lot C
would be debarred from by the said proposed appropriation of should
thereof be debarred from all communication
with the several public Roads in the neighbourhood of
the said Waste: which said offer Your Lordships
by a letter from the said Mr Secretary
Long, the exact date of which is unknown to Your Memorialist
has not bound have since been pleased at the sollicitation of Your Memorialist, to refer
to the Surveyor General of the Crown Lands, for his Report
relative to the price demanded in the same.
