That in solliciting In proceeding now to sollicit the intimation of Your
Lordhips' pleasure, in relation to the quantum
and parcels of the land intended to be annexed
to the said Penitentiary House, it seems necessary
for Your Memorialist humbly to state previously to submitt the state of his wishes
and expectations in relation thereto thereunto, together with the
grounds thereof, which are as follows viz:

The quantity of the ground singularly at Battersea Rise in the Estate at Battersea Rise which formed the terms
of Your Memorialist's proposal and which was accordingly
intended to have been annexed allotted to the said Establishment,
was amounted, as rented in the said Act of the 34th
of his Majesty's Reign to 79 Acres and a Rood; in
round numbers 80 Acres.

Under the original Penitentiary plan, grounded in the Act of the year 1779
of the 19th year of his Majesty's Reign this same quantity was Estate had been intended purchased to be allotted to the
number of 900 Prisons, of which the a number
which was not in any event to have been encreased, and for none
of whom was any provision intended to be made therein
after the expiration of their expiration a respective terms
of imprisonment.

The land then and there in question was not
only in a situation eminently desirable and valuable,
but, as appears also from the parcels thereof as recited in the said Act,
all the whole of it in a state of culture separate ownership
and high culture.

Under In the now intended Penitentiary Establishment
under the said Act of the 154th year of his Majesty's 1794 is
the number of prisoners for which Your
Memorialist was originally in conformity to his said
Proposal, to have made provision in the said quantity of 80 Acres or Estate containing 80 Acres, or on such ground as should
be obtained in lieu thereof was 1000. and
