16 Mr. Benthams Memorial
with him, whether it will be possible to keep the same down within
the £1,000 — being the sum, for which Your Memorialist (adopting the pro-
posal made by the noble Marquis the former Landlord, and approved
by the Surveyor General of Crown Lands) offered to take, and could
without loss have taken, the same upon himself: — that, in this way, the
amount of the said charge has, since the commencement of the treaty
for the purchase of the said Estate, been already reduced, by the amount
of upwards of a Year and a quarter's value, — and, since the date of the
purchase of the said Estate, by upwards of half a Year's value, of the said
Leases: — that thus, in one way or other, all remaining difficulties, that
have arisen out of the plan of negotiation, which Your Memorialist has
found himself obliged to pursue, are in a way to be removed; but, in
every instance at the expence, and to the irretrieveable loss and detriment,
of Your Memorialist. (n)
