Panopt.
Those were his considerations – those and not the personal
character of an obscure individual of whom with relation to any
public trust it could scarcely with propriety be said that he had
any character, those were the considerations by which the choice of those distinguished Statesmen had
been determined: and
by them want in specie
they were superior to
any considerations and
to those statesmen in
their and their character
of Judges they were more
honourable than any considerations
that could
have been derived from
personal favour, in its
same personal and
habitual intercourse
need scarce be mentioned.
Those works, though the latest and most material of
the viz. Panopticon the had never been published were
in the hands of the Honourable Reporter's hands: any
number of issues of them declaredly (as such his
character) at his command: of course with whatsoever
time it might please him to take for the perusal and consideration
of them: In those same works moreover but particularly the latest all the f nor errors vulgar and punitive
of which this so far as concerns the matter here in question
this Report, all the fallacies including all the hypocrisies
in it are were seen by him, or without his wilful
default might and would have been seen by him
already brought to view, dissected fibre by fibre, and
exposed.
