Page 42 line 6. "In proposing a system for general adoption
"I will not" (says the worthy Baronet) rest its operation on
"a dependence upon the extraordinary merit of any individual
"magistrate or man". No: not if the individual
the man be an individual whose misfortune it is to
not to be known to the worthy Baronet. But if the
man be a magistrate who if the precept of the
sage have been conformed to by him is the person of all
others with whom his opposition acquaintance has been
most intimate, then here comes a clear exception to the rules
I will not recommend to Parliament+ + p. 47 l. 4 .... I declare my
opinion with confidence .... that as least a much
attention may be relied on .... the conductors may
depend.
So from the beginning. After an experience of
eighteen years (p. 43) I undertook to enter upon a detailed
enquiry .... At the request of the Magistracy (p. 44), I revised the original rules and Bye-laws,
and introduced such alterations and as experience
and observation suggested. In this revised state, I recommended
them, to the Bench of Magistrates .... I ventured
to give it that general recommendation which I have since
confidently ventured to do for whom he sees feels an individual
worthy of it, and the man can open his eyes lay his hand
on his bosom without feeling an individual worthy of it without seeing an individual worthy of it – there are
no bounds are felt to the worthy Baronet's confidence
the confidence of the worthy Baronet has no bounds is altogether boundless.
