21 Jany 1812
Panopticon. Holford's Report

8. The great strength of the opposition to Panopticon
lies in the quantity of matter which there would be to read
by any person who should wish to give the business a
fair consideration. In this way The more compleat and correct
the mass of J.B.'s arguments, in the greater is the degree
in which he suffers from this disadvantage. From
the absurdity, the nonsense, and the confusion which
pervades the whole mass of Paul and Beechers evidence
they in this way derive advantage even profit instead of suffering
disadvantage. By whatever they say confusion is thickened.
