Of those rules it must in the language applied by
the anatomist to muscles, it may be said that they
antagonize one another: each does all that can be
done by general words towards applying the proper
limit to the rule direction given by the other.

In keeping clear from all infraction of the rule of lenity So far as concerns life and death, the appointed Manager
had given to himself in the a very decided interest, and nor that
an inconsiderable one: obligation of paying £50 for
everyone that should die.

Under the System introduced by this Report no
person on whom the management depends has any such
interest. The success of it depends on the assumed propensity
of men in power such as he the Author knows of to persevere in a line of conduct
opposite to their interest.

The provisions of which it is supposed that they ought
not to be introduced and yet that they will by the appointed Manager they would be introduced
if they are unwholesome they will be would have been prejudicial or dangerous
to health and thence to life: prejudicial to life and thence
prejudicial to the pecuniary interest which he had given
to himself, prejudicial to health and thence to the capacity
to work on the part of those his Apprentices: and thence
prejudicial in another way to that same interest.

Those supposed improper provisions they would have
been eatable, and moreover inter alia they would not have
answered their purpose of keeping the apprentices in life
and health: and be of those eatable provisions by an
express article in the contract he stood bound at every meal to give to each individual
as much as that individual chose to eat.
