Defence of Economy
To return to the principle of unbounded work
the future establishment of which the panto-post-future
establishment of which the orator had in view. That
in this a situation such as his the establishment
of a principle principle to that effect should be the
object of a man's wishes wish is what may be conceived
without much difficulty. But that it with
should openness and hardyhood audacity such as will be
seen displayed in his own words it should have
been avowed and advocated is what on the part of a reader
by whom the concluding part of his speech should
be taken in hand by itself, and without that introductory
part the sham defence of economy, in
which the design that was at bottom found is
not to cover it, would be apt to suggest a
doubt whether it were possible that such principles
could have have really found a public man to
put his hand to them, a man who had a to maintain a character which could be
maintained or lost, or whether it were not the work
of some imposter who to for the purpose
of throwing a momentary spot upon his character
had assumed forged his name.
