By plan of association not sectarian or limited assortment
association not severe and strict enough, forsooth, for
fulfilling compassing the purpose of the maximum of moral improvement
and reformation! And by whom is the
objection made? By a Gentleman by whom no such
proposal is made as that of giving up either Penal
Colonization or the Hulks: pen colonization in which
every idea of seclusion assortment is altogether out of the question,
the Hulks in which not to speak of the day men of
all sorts and ages are kept in the dark dark together with
scarce room to have themselves not seen of
by anybody by any but one another and with scarce
room to be in themselves.
