9 Sept. 1812
To Ld Sidmouth

Avoiding to see Seeing a thing and by that means being pained
and shamed by the sight of it is what any man may
avoid do by not suffering himself to look at it.

This accordingly is what it is in your Lordship's
power to do in relation to the present business
and by that means and in that condition be the breach
of faith on the one hand ever so flagrant, be the job on
the other hand ever so scandalous and indefeasible, Your so it may be
that Your
Lordship may will not be troubled with it.

But it is only by this means, and on this condition those terms
that Your Lordship is put in your Lordships situation
a public Minister man can make any such escape.
