In With submission, my Lord, in the character of a Ministerial Job I would be it
might not be a glance of Your Lordships eye might
not be ill bestowed upon the complexion of this business.

1. A Member of Parliament – Mr H. wants a place:
a place as with emolument in some way shape or other
annext. The faith of government having for near
20 years past been plighted to one individual, who had
staked upon it the greater part of his property and the whole of
his expectations in life, Mr H. is a Committee is
got up and Mr H. is made Chairman of it. for the
Chairman, and for what purpose? – For the prearranged purpose of this removing the unoffending individual, and putting
himself into his place. Judge in his own cause,
he gives judgment against at the charge of the individual against to whom
not the shadow of a transgression, nor so much as the
vague imputation of relative unfitness is imputed, a
judgment, having everything of forfeiture but the name
to having secured to himself a precious fruit of one out
of three shares of the said forfeiture.

The individual thus put out is a person not
only clear of all shadow of reproach, but but by whom
the out business of business in question is known to have been
for between 30 and 40 years the great study of his life.
True it is that in the practice of this business he has not
been occupied: but in this consists not on his part
not any deficiency but part of the oppression under which
for so large a part of human life he has been kept
labouring, as if for this very purpose of quitting and keeping the opposite
advantage in into others hands.

The Member of Parliament put in is a gentleman
who was in quite a different line, and was never
known to entertain a thought upon the subject, till upon
his removal from one place, this was thought of as
to capable of being rendered a convenient
substitution.
