§ 23
Payment of
purchase money
for lands in severalty
may be
made immediately
And whereas in and by the said Act of
the 7th of July 17964 it is provided that
"in default of agreement" with the Owners
or Proprietors interested in any piece or pieces
of Ground intended to be purchased for the
purposes of the said Act possession should
be taken of such piece or pieces of ground
payments notices having first been duly given and having first been made of the
of thereof either to
or Proprietors or into the Bank of England for
their use as the silk having been
either by consent or previously ascertained where necessary by the
Verdict of a Jury in the manner therein
mentioned And whereas doubts have
arisen from what time such default of agreement should
be understood to have commenced Be it [+] before any treaty and
at any time after
the appointment
of such Feoffee or
Feoffees as aforesaid
and before any treaty
therefore enacted that [+] it shall and may
be lawful to and for such Feoffee or Feoffees
and shall have been appointed by virtue of
the said Act to make such payments
and payments into the Bank of England
as they are in and by the said Act they
are eventually empowered and directed to
make for the purposes of the said Act And that
