Long Lease vice
Fees.

Provided always and be it enacted that
if any such Lord of a Manor being a
body public
should in preference to the absolute
conveyance of such land in the state of
Waste and Common Land or of his interest
therein choose rather to convey the same
in the way of Lease for a long term of
years at a pepper corn or other greater
reserved Rent and in with or without the farther consideration of a fine
or fines payable at certain or contingent
periods then and in such case it shall be
lawful to and for the said Lord High
Treasurer or Commissioners at his or their
discretion to accept of such Lease in lieu
of such absolute conveyance, and that as
well in the instance of Lands in Severalty
and separate ownership as in the instance
of land in the state of Waste and Common
Land: such Lease not being in
either instance for a term of less than a thousand
years.
