A plan design was produced on the occasion, for
to appearance of very old date, projected by the Adams's
It was for covering almost the whole of if not the whole
the spot with buildings. The present total absence
of value was admitted: but Finsbury
Square was mentioned as an example of a value
that might be given to such a spot by building.
The probability of the spot's recovery buildings
at some period or other, were known to be received from Parliament can not be disputed
unless bounds to the possible spread of the Metropolis
could be assigned. But a circumstance that seems to indicate that the period at which
such an event would have taken place is not likely
to be a very near one, near enough to be of much
advantage to the existing Members, is that there is
so much ground contiguous remaining unbuilt upon, though
a great part of it in situations seemingly more
advantageous, viz: the banks of the River along
Milbank: and the boundaries grounds on each side of the several Roads
between the existing Streets and the Waste in question
