6. Provision with regard to Roads — Confining
the vague roads that are apt to spread over
Commons to the Roads absolutely necessary — in
respect of quantity as well as direction. Provision
for furnishing compensation condemning
existing Roads especially where requisite only for
the use of a few individuals, with power to make
pecuniary compensation.
N.B. The particular object of this Bill
is to pave way for a special clause,
having relation to Tothill Fields — which
Clause may be moved afterwards —
Clause to be moved afterwards on the part of the Treasury
Clause reciting Tothill Fields as being a
Waste within the four Counties mentioned or alluded
to in the Act (7 July 1794) but as being incumbered
with a ruinous Poor House in the
middle — with no more than 8 or 9 families in
it — Should the Treasury pitch upon Tothill
Fields, powers to pull down this Poor House
Clauses to be consented to if proposed on the
part of the Dean & Chapter of Westminster Lords
of the Manor.
1. Clause for reserving a part of the Waste of
serve as a Cricket Ground, for the use of the Westminster
Scholars. who now occupy the whole indiscriminately
for that purpose
With a few other clauses, appropriate to the
particular Waste in question.
