N.B. A satisfaction in The part reserved
in kind The possession of the satisfaction reserved in kind
seems more competent to the situation of the
Dean and Chapter than to that of the Parish
or Parishes:—
1. Because the management and improvement
of Land seems a function better suited to the condition of a
small and permanent body, such as that of
the Dean and Chapter, than to that of numerous
and in some measure fluctuating body, such as [+] [+] the Vestry Vestries, select
as they are,
that by which the Government business of the Parishes
is conducted.
2. Because the Dean and Chapter are in
the habit of that sort of management, and
are provided with fit and and permanent Officers
for the purpose: which can scarcely be said
to be the case at all, at any rate not in
nearly equal degree, in the instance of the
Parishes.
3. Because, in the case supposing the land in the hands of the Dean and
Chapter, the proper object in view in the management
of such concerns, the management improvement of the
fund in question for the benefit of the principals, is likely
to be effectually provided for, to the exclusion of
all bye-interests: whereas in the instance of supposing it in the
hands of the Parishes, that is of the Parish Governments
any such subject matter will naturally be forms the natural
a bone of contention and a subject of intrigue food
