Markham Doctor of Laws, and Thomas
Salter Esquire, to build Houses, and open
a Square, in and upon a certain Piece of
Ground called Dean's-Yard, Westminster, and
several Pieces of Ground contiguous thereto.
Whereas divers of the Houses where the Scholars educated
at Westminster-School are boarded and lodged, are

great Distance from the said School and from the
Houses appropriated for the Residence of the Masters
of the said School, which occasions many Inconveniencies,

from being immediately under the Inspection of their
Masters out of School Hours:
And whereas several Families have been desirous of taking Houses at
Westminster, near to the said School, for the Purpose of residing there and
having their Children educated at the said School, but have not been able
to find proper Houses for that Purpose:
And whereas it is apprehended that it would tend greatly to the good
Regulation and Management of the Scholars of the said School, if proper

Education of their Children: And
