Writ of Error
Hardy 250. Ao 178. A Writ of Error to the Kings Bench
"in England which had been received transmitted there previous to
"the new order of things, had been was received and ended upon
"by Lord Mansfield .... This . . . . threw the country again into
"a flame. Lord Charlemont though considered the proceeding
"in some degree fortunate, as it . . . . might buy the foundation
"of a total renunciatory act. A draught of such a bill
"was accordingly sent from home to Westminster; where, having
"received some modification, it was introduced into
"Parliament, slightly noticed in its passage through both
"Houses, and finally received the royal assent."
