(1)

In Germany the under the name of the Landsthurm
the system of universal arming had place as every body knows
and was productive of those good effects and those part from all evil
effects which are equally notorious. This too in a country
where the form and practice as well as form of government
was despotic and freedom of action in other
respects foreign to experience to habit and almost
to thought

So In Ireland, as far
as it intended. Yet
propose it for England
as per Ægis,
it will be called
impracticable and
mischievous.

In Engla Ireland as far as it extended its
existence was alike real its effects alike not only merely equally
but still more transcendently and manifestly beneficial beatific

Propose it Call for its introduction for England as Major Cartwright so long ago
did and so long as he has breath or hands will continue
to do impracticable and mischievous is the answer
what if any it will continue to recur.

In U.S. universal
arming and universal
suffrage have these
six years been conjoined
without the least admixture
of evil. In
U.S. habits, opinions
affections all of English
growth produced and
maintained by
the association of
ideas formed by
language.

In the United States among men all whose
habits opinions and affections were of English growth
imported in the mass from the first and consistently continuing to be imported
from England and by the English language and all
those associations of ideas which are perpetuated by
language continually more and more firmly rooted in
all breasts, this system of virtually universal armament, and that
in connection with virtually universal suffrage has now
for th more than 40 years been in full vigour and productive
of that universal good pure from all admixture
of evil which by to all who can bear to look to that country
as well as to all who live in it as so notorious.
