suppression of true

In this line of policy they have long been labouring
and will continue to labour with continually encreasing
solicitude: indefatigable in the first place in h the endeavour
to keep all eyes shut against all the true lights that bear upon
the quarter department of the field of thought and action; in the next
place in the endeavour to lead the mind man's mind astray by false
light

Eyes inerudite
and erudite.
Incredible those who
for subsistence depend
not on literary attainments; nor can obtain them conduct
those who depend
thereon for subsistence
or distinction
and can obtain
them.
The classes person of those whose eyes are may for this purpose
they have to operate upon may to this same purpose be
distinguished into two great classes the incredible, and the
credible classes. By the incredible class I mean the class of
all those who for the means of subsistence do not depend
upon any literary attainments: by the credible class I mean
the class of those who are put in possession of literary attainments
either as means of subsistence in a sphere more or
less elevated above the ordinary level or as means of distinction
serving to indicate the elevated level plane/point the occupy in
the social state of society.
