After Grattan's Speech
To find any thing like an attempt at argument any
where I have been obliged to go back five more than
five and twenty years — to drag out of the obscurity which
so well befell it that speech of Mr Grattans — that home
spun rant which has just been seen. Neither by the
Tories nor by the Whigs neither by the party opposite to
him nor yet even by his own laws this argument of his
been brought to view. Why? even because they are
ashamed of it. Thus on this occasion not a syllable could the peoples
enemy have to say for themselves if one of the
people had not helped them to it
