Of Punishments

no farther than the putting it in the power
of the partly injured to rid in the one
case to save himself from the mortification
of being obliged to condone the presence of his adversary:
in the other case to subject his adversary
to the mortification of being obliged
to humble himself before the person whom
he had thought to humble; as well as to the
temporary inconvenience of being obliged to forgo any amusements
he was engaged in; such as the
walking in any public walk, being present
at any theatrical entertainment, engaging in any
pastime in any public place & so forth.
[In case] The offender is not to understood
to have quitted the presence of the party injured
untill he has removed as well out
of his sight as out of the reach of ordinary
discourse.

To the end that there may be no doubt
whether it is When it is the pleasure or no of The party
injured when it is his pleasure that the offender shall leave his presence
