Execution of Punishments
When an offender is banished from the presence
of the Sovereign he may be forbidden
to approach within a certain distance of any
or every place at which the Sovereign resides:
and that either generally, or at the particular
time at which the Sovereign is at that
place.
The sentence may relate either o the reigning sovereign
only, or to any or all of his successors.
When a man's hand is nailed to a pillar
Nailing of the an offender's hand to a pillar the footstool
of Justice shall be thus performed.
2.⊞ ⊞ The Statue of Justice shall be placed upon a pillar or platform of suitable heigth. The hand or other hands to be nailed He shall be made to stand upright with his
back to the pillar and his face to the spectators.
3. His hand or other hands to be nailed shall
be brought over his head and placed with the
palm outwards against the pillar footstool.
4. Through the middle of the palm shall be
driven with a hammer a round nail of the length
of 3 Inches in length and not more than – of an
inch – nor less than – of an inch in diameter.
4. If only one hand only be nailed
5. His fingers shall be bound to the pillar with
cords, that the his bloody palm of it with the nail in it
may be displayed.
