To stand well with parliament – with that assembly
in which is comprized no doubt a very large
share of the most dignified & respectable respectable as well as powerful members of the
community is certainly the noblest as well as most important

such a conduct may be sufficient to (recommend
him) ensure his popularity, to that degree with which
is necessary sufficient to enable him to carry on his business
smoothly.
