16 Any Person bring a Horse shall give an Account thereof to
the Inspector resident in the Losers Parish with the particulars
as may be conducive to identify and recover the same – who shall
transmit the same with all possible diligence to the Office in that
County Town &c which said Office shall immediately send the said
Account thereof to the Office in London – Provided nevertheless
that the Lower has made sufficient enquiries in that neighbourhood
to be certain of its Loss.

☞ and also a Licence for Slaying Horses. C.
That no Collar Maker Fell Monger &c or any Person
whatsoever shall kill of Flay any Horse &c without being seen by
the Inspector of that Parish and also shall register the proper marks
&c as aforesaid for which they shall Pay the said Inspector the
Sum of sixpence for every Horse &c.

17 Any Person who shall bring or offer for Sale any Distempered
or Glandered Horse &c into any Public Market &c for sale on
any pretence whatsoever shall be fined £ or in default thereof
Shall be imprisoned or publickly whipped.

☞ Why not oblige Collar makers
to take out Licences in the country? C.

18 That no Fell Monger Horse Boiler &c or any Person or Persons
Whatsoever shall buy or cause to be bought or authorize any
Person or Persons to buy for their own use any Horse &c for
Slaughter or for their Hides at any Fair &c (except Gentlemen
for their own Hounds) under the Penalty of £ and the said
Huntsmen or whoever it may concern shall register them.

19 Every distempered Horse &c shall be sold only to those who
are Licenced for the purpose of Slaughtering them where they
shall be kill'd – Persons buying such under any pretence
whatsoever unless Licenced for that purpose shall be fined £
or imprisoned. That the number of Slaughtering Houses
for London shall not exceed four.

20 Any Person Licenced for the aforesaid purpose who shall
offer the same for sale shall be fined the sum of £

21 That the office in London shall immediately they receive information
of a Horse Lost or Stolen cause a sufficient number
of Handbills describing the particulars &c to be sent to every
office in England &c to be by them delivered and distributed
