The times at which the number of 3070 was
returned as the existing number existing in the
Colony were as long ago (it may be objected)
as August and October 1796: since which
692 672 more have been added to the list viz:
in 1796, 279 ( none of which whether can or well
thirty have arrived in that same year, so
as to form part of the number of 3070) and
in 1797, 393. From much So far is true:
but then on the other hand in the remainder
of the year 1796, and in the whole of the year
1797, a proportionate number must, according
to the a preceding remark have gone off the list by
emancipation.
