Note (a) to Art. 18

(a) Of the act of rebellion committed by a Puisne Judge
against the authority of his chief – of this enormity and the
astonishment produced by it, mention has been made above.
Of this astonishment, what was the cause? Answer –
It was neither more nor less, than the intensity of the
habitual servility, and the uninterruptedness of the habit.
