Agreement dated this 24th day of Decr 1805 between
Jeremy Bentham of Queen Square Place Westminster
Esqr. of the one part & Thomas Haigh of York Street
Westmr of the other part

Whereas ye sd, Thos Haigh is now in ye occasion
of a House & Outhouse & Yard adjoining thereto situated at No 15
in ye sd Street called York Street which said House
& Yard he now holds of ye sd J Bentham as Tenant
at Will. And whereas ye sd Thos Haigh has
now lately applied to ye sd J Bentham for a Lean
of ye sd premis offering in consideration of such Lean
to keep ye sd premis in good & sufficient repair
during ye continuance of such Lean.

Now therefore it is agreed between ye sd parties
for their presents that in consideration of ye keeping
ye sd premis in such good & sufficient repair & in
consideration of ye said Rent & such other terms and
conditions as are hereinafter mentioned yt he ye sd
J Bentham his Exors or Admors shall & will at any
time within one Calendar Month after demand made
to him or them respectively in writing at ye costs &
charges of ye sd Thos Haigh his Exors or Admors or Atrs grant
to him or them respectively a good & sufficient
Lean of ye sd premis for Seven Years reckoning from ye
25 day of Decr 1805 or for such part of ye sd term
as shall then be unexpired at ye clear Yearly Rent of
Forty two Pounds which sd Rent ye sd Thos. Haigh
hereby agrees to pay clear of all deduction on ye
account of Parliamentary Parochial or other Taxes whatsoever
(except ye Property Tax) at the four most usual Quarterly
times of payment in ye year.

And it is hereby further agreed 1st tt during ye continuance
of ye sd term hereby agreed to be granted yt ye
sd Thos Haigh his Exors or Admors or Atrs shall & will at their
own proper costs & charges keep ye sd premis in
good & sufficient repair and so deliver up ye same
at ye expiration of ye sd term (accidents by Fire excepted) 2 that he ye sd Thos
Haigh his Exors or Admors or Atrs shall not assign or let ye sd
