Prospectus of the Universalist12
As, even when all added together The classes or descriptions of persons as yet made mention
of composing compose even when all added together no more than
a comparatively small minority, of his competitors might be mentioned over whom the Universalist would
not in point of extent of such have any the advantage
if it he had not in a degree peculiar to himself some means
of recommending his paper to the favor of the unopulent
classes of whom in all places and at all times the vast majority
will be composed. Those means the Universalist has
at his command and will not fail to turn to account
and make the most of: Of The associations for various purposes which are continually on the encrease in this his country he is not
only informed of but actually in communication with.
The opinions true and false which on interesting subjects they
entertain – the affections amicable and inimical which
the quality and quantity of the information they respectively possess
the dangers they harbour in consequence – on all those
topics subject matters the Universalists will be seen to have means of information in a
quantity superior to any that what is in the possession of any
he best provided of his competitors: from those, from the unopulent
many he will be deriving the such his information,
and to their use will he at all times be making continue
application of it.
Cheap bread, cheap justice, cheap knowledge – of
all those blessings not only the importance, but the most effective means
of obtaining and securing their possession of them the Universalist will on every
occasion do his best to hold up to view – making giving thereby
so many instances of the application capable of being made
and accordingly made, of the greatest happiness principle.
