The imposition distress that may be brought upon
individuals by this species of sharping is
I apprehend but a small concern in comparison
of the national mischief it tends occasions
to produce, by the false imputations it
gives birth to, and the discredit it tends
to bring upon so important a branc of
administration the Kings national service. Many people hear of the
first beginnings of a transaction, who hear

imbibe prejudices which they have no opportunity
to get cured of, and propagate
false erroneous notions which they have no opportunity
