Regulations for Weavers

it is hereby directed that every Weaver be furnished with a
Ticket specifying the name, place of abode and Cootey]
under which he works, and containing an account of
the dates and period of advances made, the value of the
cloths of goods he shall deliver from time to time in return.

That at the end of each year, or expiration of each engagement,
the Commercial Resident or his representative shall sign
to the adjustment of such Weaver's account and receive the
Weaver's signature to the counter part thereof, which
latter shall remain at the Factory or Cootey to be produced
in evidence whenever called for.

Upon any Weavers failing to deliver Cloth according to
the stated period, agreed upon the Company's agent
shall be at liberty to place Peons upon them, & keep them
under restraint.

If any Weaver in the Company's Service shall be convicted
of selling Cloth either by himself, any of his family,
journeymen, or by any agent to any other Merchts
or dealers whatever whilst he is deficient in his
deliveries, according to the stated periods of his agreement
with the Company, such offender shall be punished in a regular process and conviction
in the judicial Courts

And whereas a practice had prevailed of selling Cloths,
provided by the Company's advances, clandestinely
to individuals, apparently because it suits private
dealers best to buy without risking balances, ready
made Goods, and those of the finer assortment, which
the Company's Weavers, long supported by them,
and enabled by their advances produce.
