-formed, that complaints which are found to be really groundless
will be duly punished, and of this, Collectors are also
desired to take proper notice. 18
Weavers who have reason to complain as above to the Conduct
of other traders towards them are, if employed by the
company, to have recourse for protection to the Commoncial
Resident, if not so employed to the Collector or the
Adawhit — 19 — All Merchants obstructed in their
fair trade, conducted according to the foregoing regulations,
are to have the same recourse as it is stated in
the last two regulations 20 — All persons whatever employed
for the Company in the district either in the Revenues,
Commerce or judicial line, are required to treat the
manufacturers and fair traders, conforming to the
foregoing regulations, with kindness and encouragement
21. It is to be understood and accordingly ordered,
that these Regulations are to operate in their full extent
and force in relation to the Servants and
Manufacturers employed by the Commercial
Servants or Contractors for Silk & every other
article proposing the Honourable Company's Investment
provided in the Province of Bengal, Bahar,
& Orisso.
