S Temptation of a different kind more animated kind than pictures & statues awaited me at Sr John
Hort's. The company consisted of the 3 Sr Johns with the
wives of two of them and the ten the daughters of Sr J. Coghill. The day before I had<add>sat between</add> Miss
them at dinner though nearest as Ld L. was pleased to observe to the youngest
where he thinks the handsomeness Betsy CoghillCramer (that I find is her stile and title.) now lamented in
the most pathetic terms, the habitualdistress she was in for in the country want of an
accompaniment. Miss Cramer, after Sir J. Hort had shewn
me thehis house took for granted I had not seen what she called her Garret,
and extracted extorted bespoke from one a regret expression of concern for any loss and of desire
to make myself amends for it another time. The decorations are were
planned by her it seems and are executing by her own hands.
