His ambition is to see his work ordered to be translated for
and printed for the use of the Members: he regrets very much that
time did not afford him a possibility of getting it translated here
and sending it over in that state. He would think nothing of going
over, I am sure, if the Assembly did him the honour to imagine
that his presence, to give explanations or obviate objections, could
be of any use: and I am equally sure that he would not accept,
much less expect, either reward for his trouble, or indemnification
for his expence. He can make himself understood in French,
though he expresses himself with difficulty, for want of use.
