From the nature of each case it will easily
be perceived in what cases

It is scarce necessary to observe, that wherever
air be is intended to be or happens to be extricated
at gradually or successive periods, there the operation of exhaustion
will in proportion require to be either repeated or continued or repeated

intervention of another an intermediate body or mass to serve as a
channel of communicate for the more ready conducting of the heat, such as a metallic for this purpose of conducting
substance, or the heat, such as metallic sand for instance, may
