8. Admitting the property of exempting from cultivation the the Royal
operation of the Act, the RoyalForests and Parks as are specified from in the Sketch,
might it not however in some of the instances be of
mutual advantage to the Crown and to individuals,
of the rights of common enreased possessed by
individuals in relation to such reserved Wastes were abolished,
and equivalent allottments out of the Waste given in
recompense? In the instance of Epping Forest for
example, the neighbouring farms have, many of
them, rights of cutting wood in the forest—rights
which are much more injurious to the public in
respect of the power of rearing timber, than beneficial
to the individual.
