The utmost portion divisible among captors
can not here be greater
than what remains
after allowing to
owners and outfitters
their disbursements
with reasonable profit
thereon.

3. A third second reason for regarding the allowance made
of the whole proceeds profit to captors in the King's service
as more than sufficient is deducible from
the division made of them in the case of the privateering
system, or in im an instant operate more simply from the existence
of that system. In this Under that system
in the case of each prize the whole of the proceeds of the produce of the money
capable of being raised by the sale of that prize
constitutes the whole of the profit that is capable
of being extracted by it from it by owners and captors all persons concerned
in the building, fitting out and navigating the capturing vessel,
put together.together with provisons
and wages or shares
equivalent to wages
for the Commander his subordinate officers
and common men
all together.

The business such as it is is proved to
be profitable even to the owners. But for to pro the
owners to extract a profit from it they might in the
first place have reimbursed to themeselves the whole expence amount
of the capital invested employed in all classes
as above, put together: and to that and upon that capital must be added the exp ratecommercial proift at a rate adequate to the
risk. Such are the deductions
that must
in this case be made
before from the mass
of profit divisible
among the captors

When when this necessary mass of expense and profit is deducted,
the remainder constitutes the whole of the
profit capable adm of being divided among the captors.
But in the case of a prize captured by a Kings ship, the whole of the expense is borne
by the public, no deduction in the above accounts
or an on any account is made. But, for engaging
men in this disastrous species of industry a part
and that probably the least considerable part, of the whole
mass of the proceeds of the vessels if any taken during a
cruise is found sufficient: therefore that being the case the whole must
be much more than sufficient.
