Under these circumstances two arrangements present
themselves as calculated to effect conducive to the effecting the desirable and difficult
concord and coincidence between duty and interest and duty
marked out by personal interest to a coincidence with that
marked out by duty.
One example in the imposing on him the Agent the obligation
of emptying his hands of all moneys as fast as they are received,
, by lodging them in some pocket hands, if any such
be, between which and his no partnership, no
community of interest can have place.
To With this description the hands pocket bank of any private
Banker or set of Bankers never can agree: because
being of the offence of the transaction that the choice of
hands in to which in his own responsibility he entrusts the
money should be of his choice, it is impossible to set
debar interpret the of this favour from manifesting testifying a
proportionable measure of gratitude, or himself from
reaping proportionable fruits for it.
But for the opposite reason with this description
– and one only set of hands can and do agree; viz. those of
a public Bank, such as that the several chartered
Banks of England, Scotland and Ireland.
