Prizes

In the part relative to Seamen the following portions
may be require to be distinguished.

Section In the Act of the 48th 1805 a portion composed of the following section §.2 which
prizes to the captors ships and goods taken on board an enemy's ship or fraudulent ? §. 5 which gives to them
in the way of extra bounty under the name of head money
a head for every military man that was on board the
prize: and §. 7 and 8 which in case of recapture give to them under the name
prize of salvage give to them in case of recapture a determinate portion
of the value of the ship and cargo so recovered.

In and by the Act of 1809 §. 31, by which the like direction
is extended to the case of a vessel of our own
for an offence against the Revenue Laws.

In this case the favour shown is in the case of those which are accompanied with
and of action on the part of the party favoured.
2. In the Act of 1805 another portion composed of
of sections 92, 93, 94, 95. The object of
which this part has for its object the securing
to the uneducated inferior classes against those the benefit of their earnings
to themselves, their
