Prize Seaman's Law

Once The solicitude of the Legislature the King in Parliament has exercised
itself in the endeavour of to protecting the interest of
the Seaman Seamen against all such injuries
as it is exposed to receive at the hands suffer, whether through dishonesty or negligence of such persons
whose assistance services he has need of to call on in the character of Agents.

One class Of those some are Prize Agents: viz. i.e.
persons employed i the sale of such prizes getting in of prize money, Ship and
Contents and the distribution of the proceeds or money
raised by the sale: and or who are charged become occasionally employed with the business
of obtaining getting in Salvage money, Head money, and
Seizure money.

The regulations that have this for their object see
the Prize Agents Code.

Others are Receiving Agents: persons employed
for getting in f and paying to or to the use of this or that individual whether from Prize Agents or from the
Navy Pay Office or from other quarters such moneys
as on the score of pay regular pay or occasional reward
as above, become due to the Seamen from Government. See for these

Provision having been made for the maintenance relief of Seamen
when disabled or superannuated in or under the
care of the Royal Hospital at Greenwich

The Royal Hospital at Greenwich being employed
by Government not only in affording maintenance or
relief to Seamen in the Kings service when disabled or superannuated, but
also in the performance of divers services tending to
secure their his interest against injury as above, money
which having been due to Seamen becomes forfeited by
or through neglect remains unclaimed, have by the wisdom care of
wisdom and beneficence
of Parliament been
made over to the
management and in
some sort to the use
of that establishment.
