Intimation in the way of reference
Information in

Section 5. In this Section mention is made of
a third other of the operations constitutive of the kind kinds of service
in consideration of which encouragement is by this
Act and to wit by this Section administered.

This consists in the taking or destroying of the men
on board of such Ships of war or privateers as
come to have been taken or destroyed.

2. Of the sorts of persons to whom the matter of encouragement
is meant in this case to be administered, viz.
the Officers, Seamen, Marines, Soldiers, and others who
all have been actually on board any of his Majestys Ships
or Ships of War, or
paid armed Vessel
or Vessels, or of any
Privateers at the actual
taking, sinking, burning
or otherwise destroying
any Ship or Ships of
War or Privateers belonging
to the Enemy.

3. Of the quantum of the matter of encouragement is meant
to be administered: viz. £5 for every such man so taken
destroyed or missing escaped, for such is the effect of the provision
£5 "for every man who was living on board any
"Ship or Vessel so taken, sunk, burnt or otherwise
destroyed at the beginning of the Attack or engagement
between them".

Eighty and more is the number of lines – long

lines occupied by this single Section: of which
eighty nine fifteen twelve are employed in the designations
just above mentioned. The other 77 are employed
in the designation of

1. The mode in which this head money or say the
bounty money is to be paid.

2. The evidence by which the title to it is to be established.

3. The Judicatory by which and viz. the High Admiralty" or any
other in which the
"Prize shall have been
"adjudged" and
mode of procedure happily the summary mode in
which the validity of the claim is to be determined.

4. The eventual Appeal given as against from either of these judicatories respectively to the
Lords Commissioners of Appeal in Prize Causes.
