Prize Acts 1805 & 1809 analysed
2. Then comes a chance by speaking the business
of which consists in the bestowing upon the giving on any obvious terms to Agents
in a certain protection being the same which without
any such bounty they would have "and the Agent or
Agents making distribution conformably to any Prize List
so subscribed, shall have the same protection that is
given to them him or them by the provisions of the said
Act in making distribution conformably to a prize list
certified in there described therein as directed.
3. Another amendment consists in giving power to somebody
to correct in any such list by a comparison
with such Muster Books to correct in any error in any such list,
but who that somebody is among the non
of this amending Act. "Provided always, that any error
in such list may be corrected by a comparison with
with the Muster Book or Books from which the same
was taken" after which whereupon follow immediately

taken a list taken at any time prior to actual distribution? is
the meaning? Probably It should seem not; although
to help exclude this an interpretation thus called for by the rules of government
not so much as a comma between the word taken,
and the word at is interposed, Provided always
that, at any time prior to actual distribution any
error in any such list may be corrected &c. had
this been the situation given to the clause, the ambiguity
would have been prevented.
