Prizes Prize Agents &c Law
Sections 55 and 57.
These Sections have for their object the prevention of breach
of trust on the part of the species of trustee here in question.
In Section 55, A prize Agent is forbid to let in
any person into a share participation of his profits; and at
the same time all other persons are forbidden to accept of
any such share.
In case of transgression, Penalty in either case
forfeiture of £100, together with double the value of what
has thus been given and or received.
In Section 47, the Agent upon the registration of his
first Letter of Attorney is at the same time required to give security for the due execution of his trust in all matters of Prize "Agency that shall be committed to his care during the present war," by a Bond for £5,000 himself with
Sureties to the Admiralty Court in which it is registered, as
above.
Penalty for omission, nullity of the appointment, and perpetual
disqualification "from acting as Agent in matters of
Prize.
