Of the restriction prohibition whereby under such severe penalties
any participation of profits between one Agent and and any
other person is endeavoured to be prevented, the reason
might not perhaps, at first sight at least, present itself to every
mind. But to clear up the matter, by a passage in an
official letter of Mr Rose's may suffice the mischief
which was considered as calling for this remedy is pretty
plainly indicated.
