On this same occasion another matter spectacle not unworthy
of observation is exhibited by this well matched power,
this consolidating and amending clause pair of Sections, the Section of in the consolidating Act (§. 80)
and in the other Act the corresponding Section by which it is amended.

Speaking of Agents "every Agent" says the Act of 1805,
"to the Treasurer of Greenwich Hospital, or such person
"or persons as he shall appoint and depute to receive
"the same" .... "every Agent shall pay over all shares and
balances then remaining unpaid. But if by every Agent
without exception this operation is to be performed it is to be performed
not only by every Agent acting at and under the
direction of the High Court, but moreover every Agent
acting at and under the direction of a Vice Admiralty Court,
an Agent for example at in the East Indies is to pay money over
to that or into the hands of the Treasurer of Greenwich
Hospital at Greenwich. And this is

And this at what time where is it to be performed?
Answer. At the end of four months after the first distribution
of the proceeds. But reckoning from that same
time day, three months is the length of time during which
by §. 75 the Agent is obliged to keep an Office open, and therein to keep on his payments.
It is not therefore till the three months are
at an end that it is possible for this Agent in the East Indies to learn for him to know what
it is that he has to pay to this Treasurer whose office
is in Greenwich: a month therefore is the time which
allotted by allowed to every such Agent here allowed to him for
the voyage from Cuba Bombay for example to Greenwich.
