22 Decr 1810
Prize Acts 1805 1809

Meantime But whatsoever doubts, if any, may remain as to
this matter under the consolidating Act of 1805 (§. 80) under the
Act which mends it amending Act of 1809, there exists not any room for doubt no doubt came as to this point
find so much as a word to fix upon.

The Act of 1805 allows it has just been seen in
what way – allows to the Agent the chance of finding
in Bombay a deputy of the Tr Greenwich Treasurer
happily providentially stationed there and capable of saving him the
voyage. But by the penner of the amending Act he
is allowed no such chance: to "the Treasurer of Greenwich
and nobody else does he insist that the by the
Agent the money shall be paid allowing him as before
in name and appearance four months in effect as hath been seen but
one month for that purpose.

Before him stood the clause which he was amending,
the clause which indulged indulges the Agent with
the liberty of finding out a deputy Treasurer to save
him the voyage if so it be that the place affords any
such Deputy. But to in the estimation of the rigorous zeal of the
amending legislator this indulgence was too great: he
accordingly will admitt of no alteration insists upon the voyage.

True it is that not above more than from section before
viz in §. 6 is found so sensibly did we find him
impressed with the idea of the not only of the length
but of the of these long voyages that at
the expence of 75 long hours we saw him allotting
a double allowance of and Newspapers to this same
purpose. In the interval between these two sections by
what accident is it that so severe a requisition if so marked with such severity
has been was produced? what in this interval something or other
must have been forgotten, and what is it? that every means every this
or that on the occasion of
and for that purpose is that the labour
he had so lately been
bestowing, he had been
required himself learnt
that it was all in the
power of every Agent in the being and continuing in the East Indies to pay money into the hands of a man all the time being and continuing
at Greenwich.
