By the general character of incorrectness which is
so manifest upon the face of both these Acts, a suspicion
is induced that on this occasion in the word Captor the use of the singular
number in the word Captor is the result of a slip
either of the pen or of the press. Throughout the whole texture In every other part
of both Acts Captors, in the plural, is the word† † ☞ Search if so: and
accordingly so it is in the next line, but two of this short
section (§. 62) in which the number of lines is but no more than 8.

Another In this same short section occurrs another
passage, for which no other supposition appears seems to present
a probable cause. "For the faithful distribution
of the proceeds, or for the remitting thereof to the
Treasurer of Greenwich Hospital, says the legislator this draughtsman or to such persons
in England as the Captors shall appoint, under the directions
of the Court, for the purpose of being distributed
in England.

Here are three operations brought to view upon the carpet together
with the same disjunctive proposition adverb or place in such manner
between the second and third as well as between the
first and the second, as to remitt to the Judge to give birth
at any pleasure to any one, but not to more than one.

In the first place One operation for which he may thus
provide is "the faithful distribution of the proceeds" understand
to be made on the spot: the proceeds, that viz i.e.
for that such is the import of the article the, the whole of the proceeds.

Another operation for which it is equally in his
power to provide, but on condition of not providing for
the one just mentioned, is "the remitting thereof, i.e. of
the whole of the proceeds to the Treasurer of Greenwich Hospital
whereupon comes the 3d and last option "or to such persons in England", and so forth.
